Regain Full Shoulder Movement - Without Surgery
Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis) is painful and severely limiting - but it is treatable. At Kiran Clinics, Indore, our expert team uses Chiropractic, Matrix Rhythm Therapy, Laser & Magnetic Stimulation to restore your full range of motion naturally.
What is Frozen Shoulder Syndrome (FSS)?
Frozen Shoulder Syndrome (FSS), also known as Adhesive Capsulitis, is a painful and debilitating condition in which arm movement becomes extremely limited. It is a slow-healing condition that can take up to a year to fully develop. Research shows it affects women more than men. The hallmarks of FSS are inflammation and scar tissue formation of the shoulder's joint capsule - the fibrous tissue surrounding the "ball and socket" joint that normally enables a huge range of arm movement.
The shoulder joint capsule contracts and thickens over time, causing the shoulder to progressively "freeze" and restrict all arm movements.
Research confirms FSS disproportionately affects women, as well as people aged 40-60. Diabetic and thyroid patients carry significantly higher risk.
Without treatment, FSS can last 1-3 years. With expert chiropractic physiotherapy, recovery is accelerated significantly and pain reduced much faster.

Stages of Frozen Shoulder Syndrome
FSS is a slow, progressive condition that unfolds in three distinct stages. Knowing which stage you're in helps us design the most effective treatment plan for you.
The Freezing Stage
In the initial stage, shoulder pain develops without any obvious cause and gradually worsens over time, progressively limiting movement of the shoulder and arm. The pain is constant and sharp, often worse at night, and any attempted movement increases discomfort. This is when early intervention delivers the best results.
⏱ Duration: A few weeks to several monthsThe Frozen Stage
Once the shoulder reaches its maximum restricted movement pattern, it is classified as truly frozen. Pain is felt whenever the arm moves past its restriction point. A person in this stage is typically unable to reach behind their back or raise their hand above shoulder height - severely impacting daily activities like dressing, driving, and sleeping.
⏱ Duration: Up to nine to ten monthsThe Thawing Stage
After the frozen stage, the patient slowly begins to regain range of motion. There is a natural course of healing where the frozen shoulder typically thaws within 12 to 18 months even without treatment - a phenomenon that surprises most doctors. With professional chiropractic and physiotherapy treatment, this thawing is significantly accelerated.
⏱ Duration: 12 to 18 months (without treatment)The Thawing Mystery: The fact that frozen shoulders naturally thaw over time - even without treatment - is a mystery to most doctors and therapists. However, waiting 12-18 months in pain is unnecessary. Expert chiropractic care accelerates recovery and significantly reduces pain throughout all three stages. Don't wait - start treatment early.
What Causes Frozen Shoulder?
The exact cause of FSS is often unknown, but several well-established risk factors and triggers are consistently observed. Understanding yours helps guide treatment.
Past Injuries or Trauma
A previous injury to the shoulder - even one that seemed minor - can trigger the inflammatory response that leads to joint capsule thickening and adhesive capsulitis.
Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction)
Patients who have suffered a heart attack are at significantly elevated risk of developing frozen shoulder, due to prolonged immobility and referred nerve pathways.
Surgery - Arm, Shoulder or Mastectomy
Post-surgical immobilisation of the arm and shoulder joint is a well-known trigger. Mastectomy patients in particular face a higher-than-average risk of FSS development.
Prolonged Shoulder Inactivity
When the shoulder joint remains in the same position for extended periods - due to illness, injury, or avoiding pain - the body's autoimmune response stiffens and restricts the joint capsule.
Systemic Medical Conditions
Diabetes, hypothyroidism, Parkinson's disease, and cardiac conditions are all strongly associated with frozen shoulder development. Diabetic patients are especially susceptible.
Neck Vertebral Subluxations
The nerves controlling the shoulder originate in the neck. Spinal misalignments in the cervical spine can impair nerve function in the shoulder region, contributing to FSS onset and prolonging recovery.
Chiropractic & Physiotherapy for Frozen Shoulder
We combine advanced technology with hands-on expertise to restore your shoulder's full range of motion - naturally, safely, and without surgery.
Cervical Spine Assessment & Chiropractic Adjustment
Since shoulder nerves originate in the neck, we first assess for vertebral subluxations in the cervical spine. Restoring proper spinal movement allows nerves to function correctly in the shoulder region - a critical and often overlooked first step.
Matrix Rhythm Therapy
Developed at Erlangen University (Germany), this therapy applies physiological vibrations - matching the body's own cell biology - externally to stimulate skeletal muscles and the nervous system harmonically. It restores cellular metabolism and kickstarts tissue healing at a cellular level, without causing pain.
Class IV Laser Therapy
A global standard of care for musculoskeletal injuries. Laser therapy alleviates shoulder pain, reduces inflammation in the joint capsule, and accelerates recovery from both acute and chronic stages of frozen shoulder.
Tissue Magnetic Stimulation (Salus Talent® Pro)
A unique worldwide therapeutic device delivering non-contact pulsed magnetic fields up to 3 Tesla (30,000 Gauss) - stimulating muscle and nerve contraction and deep tissue healing without physical contact.
Targeted Exercise & Stretching Programme
A customised programme of shoulder exercises and stretches rebuilds muscular coordination, improves joint flexibility, and progressively restores full range of motion - the essential final step in recovery.
Frozen Shoulder Syndrome treatment usually takes a long time to heal - but any improvement represents a significant enhancement for the patient. Chiropractic adjustments are a very effective tool to resolve this painful condition, especially when combined with advanced therapies like Laser and Matrix Rhythm Therapy.
